Following these are your Catholic schools, such as the St. Clare School, at 151 Lindenwood Road; Our Lady Star of the Sea, at 5411 Amboy Road; and St. Joseph by the Sea High School, at 5150 Hylan Boulevard. Then, you have several other private schools, including the Eltingville Lutheran School, at 300 Genesee Avenue; the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School, at 400 Caswell Avenue; and the Francis School, at 4240 Amboy Road. To the south of the Staten Island Mall, below Arthur Kill Road, you will find a block of beautifully maintained homes on Leverett Avenue. One of these homes is 506 Leverett Avenue. We’ve already mentioned that the Staten Island Mall is to the north of the home. Even closer still, is Waldbaum’s Supermarket and King Kullen Grocery, which are located within Greenridge Plaza. There are many other places to shop and eat around the home, putting aside the remainder of stores located within Greenridge Plaza. There is also a handful of parks in the vicinity. These include King Fisher Park and Siedenburg Park, to the east, in addition to Latourette Park and Golf Course, to the north. Heading further southeast, you have Great Kills Park, with its marina.
The best part, however, is the number of options you have for public transportation, which surrounds the house. On Leverett Avenue, you can take the x7 or x8 express buses into Midtown or Lower Manhattan, respectively. Further east, you can take the s54 on Giffords Lane,which will take you to points between West New Brighton and Eltingville. To the north, you have Arthur Kill Road, where you can access the s74 to the St. George Ferry Terminal or the Bricktown Mall, or the s15 express bus into Lower Manhattan. To the west of the house is Richmond Avenue, where you have several other options. The local buses that run along this street are the s59, to Port Richmond or Tottenville; the s89, to Eltingville or Bayonne, New Jersey; and the s79, to the Staten Island Mall or Bay, Ridge Brooklyn. Your express bus options on this street are the x1 and x5 into Midtown Manhattan, as well as the x4 into Lower Manhattan.

Less than a two-minute walk from the house, you will find the Grasmere train station. In addition to this mode of transportation which will take you to the St. George Ferry Terminal, you also have a number of local and express buses. The closest bus, which you can get on by the train station, is the s53; it runs along Clove Road to get to Port Richmond or Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, making the commute quite easy. Just as well, you have the x10, x11, x12, x14, x15, x17, x19, and x31 express buses, which all take the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge into Lower, Midtown, or West Midtown Manhattan.
As for schools, there are many in the area. The nearest public schools are P.S. 48, at 1055 Targee Street; Concord High School, at 109 Rhine Avenue; and the Michael J. Petrides School, at 715 Ocean Terrace. The Catholic schools in the area are the Academy of St. Dorothy, at 1305 Hylan Boulevard; the St. Sylvester School, at 884 Targee Street; the Holy Rosary School, at 100 Jerome Avenue; St. Joseph’s Parochial School, at 139 St. Mary’s Avenue; St. Joseph Hill Academy High School, at 850 Hylan Boulevard; and St. John Villa Academy, at 25 Landis Avenue. Other private schools in the vicinity include the Trinity Lutheran School, at 309 St. Paul’s Avenue, at the Staten Island Academy, at 715 Todt Hill Road. Keep in mind, however, that while these schools are all very close to the house, they may not be the ones that students are zoned for.
