The neighborhood’s center point is the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Victory Boulevard. Before the Verrazano Narrows Bridge was built and opened in 1964, Bulls Head and the other surrounding neighborhoods were dominated by farmland, but the movement into the area by residents from Brooklyn and Queens opened the doors to building new homes to accommodate a growing population.
Local buses and express buses as well service the Bulls Head area of Staten Island. Schools are P.S. 60, I.S. 72 and Port Richmond High School. The Todt Hill library is nearby, at 2550 Victory Boulevard.
