uring the latter part of the nineteenth century, the southern portion of land in Brooklyn, which is currently located below the Shore Parkway, was converted into a beach resort. By 1910, the hotels began to close down as amusement parks began to open. Eventually, there were no longer any hotels and the “summer resort” only welcomed residents of New York City who would visit for just a day. By the twentieth century, however, all that began to change.
At the turn of the century, the Muss Development Company decided to bring summer resorts back to Brooklyn using a fifteen-acre site. On the site, the company decided not to build a hotel, but rather an oceanfront community. Between 2001 and 2007
, a fifteen-building condominium complex was constructed in the Brighton Beach area of Brooklyn. The complex was quite a switch from what residents of the City were used to seeing. In fact, in 2003, it was a finalist for the National Association of Home Builders award due to its architectural beauty. While it did not win, it certainly turned some heads.

The closest Catholic schools to the home are the Good Shepherd School, at 1943 Brown Street, and the St. Edmund Preparatory High School, at 2474 Ocean
Avenue. There are also a number of other private schools in the area, such as Yeshiva Gedolah Academy, at 2261 Bragg Street; Lev Bais Yaakov, at 2710 Avenue X; Yeshiva of Kings Bay, at 2611 Avenue Z; and Nefesh Academy, at 2005 East 17th Street. Schools listed above may not necessarily be those this homes in zoned for. Check with your local public school board and/or school administration to determine eligibility.
