You also have a number of transportation options.  For example, the Bay Terrace Train Station is right below the house on North and South Railroad Avenues.  If you walk to Giffords Lane, you can take the s54 to West Brighton or Eltingville, the x7 into Midtown Manhattan, or the x8 into Lower Manhattan.  If you walk further north to Arthur Kill Road, you will find more bus options for you to take.

There are numerous schools in the area which your children may attend.  The nearest public schools are P.S. 32, at 32 Elverton Ave.; I.S. 24, at 225 Cleveland Avenue; and the College of Staten Island School for International Studies, at 100 Essex Drive.  St. Patrick’s School, at 3560 Richmond Road; the St. Clare School, at 151 Lindenwood Road; and Monsignor Farrell High School, at 2900 Amboy Road, are just a few of the options you have if you would like to enroll your children in Catholic school.  If you would prefer a private school, you have the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School, at 400 Caswell Avenue; the Eltingville Lutheran School, at 300 Genesee Avenue; and the Francis School, at 4240 Amboy Road.  To find out which schools your child may be zoned for, you can contact your local public school board.
